Amus College (yellow) will battle Mentor in round of 16
Defending champions Buddo SS, FEASSA champions Bukedea Comprehensive School-South, 12-time winners and FEASSA record holders St Mary’s Kitende, and 2025 FEASSA champions Amus College School are all still in contention alongside emerging challengers such as Greenlight Islamic, Lubiri SS, Kyadondo SS, among others. However, it was a bad outing for the Ankole zone, whose four representatives failed to progress beyond the Round of 32 on Friday.
Kicwamba (red) was eliminated by Kawempe
Main hopefuls Kicwamba High School suffered their downfall after conceding two own goals in the opening seven minutes against Kawempe Moslem, eventually losing 2-0 to the Kampala zone side.
Ibanda SS also failed to match hosts Mentor SS, who cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory at the same stage.
The other two representatives, St Kagwa Bushenyi High School, the zonal champions, and debutants Mbarara Army Boarding SS, failed to progress beyond the group stages.
As the giants march on, one of the highly anticipated fixtures will be the fierce encounter between Amus College and hosts Mentor SS.
