BUSHENYI - Kenneth Akanduhura Mugooha, a former Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality MP aspirant, has been granted bail. He is accused of defiling, impregnating, and procuring an abortion for his 15-year-old housegirl. Akanduhura, 35, appeared before Bushenyi High Court Resident Judge Amos Kwizera on September 16, 2024, to face allegations of defiling, impregnating, and procuring an abortion for the minor.
He was arrested on April 17, 2024, by CID officials, following orders from Youth and Children Affairs Minister Balam Barugahara, after the girl's relatives reported that Akanduhura had defiled their daughter in Kyeitembe East Ward, Bushenyi-Ishaka, aided her abortion, and abandoned her.

According to reports, in February 2024, Akanduhura allegedly forced the girl's door open in Kyeitembe East Ward, Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality, and had sex with her, threatening her not to report the matter. He denied the allegations.
Justice Amos Kwizera ordered Akanduhura's release on a cash bail of 10 million shillings due to ill health, while his sureties must execute a 15 million shilling non-cash bail.
Akanduhura was conditioned to report to the court every two weeks.
