FUFA Women Super League giants Kampala Queens Women FC (KQ) have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of two teenage players from Boni Consilii Girls School.
The Kampala-based side secured the signatures of striker Rinah Ariho and midfielder Loyce Komugisha from the Isingiro-based school team. The duo has signed long-term contracts with the former league champions.

The pair has featured for the national U-17 team, the Queen Cranes, on several occasions and also led Boni Consilii to their maiden USSSA U-16 Girls’ Football title in 2024.
According to team manager Primus Ngabirano, the two were allowed to enter negotiations for a top-flight career move as part of the school’s mission to create greater opportunities for talented girls.
“Yes, we confirm the departure of our two most reliable players for a bigger career move at club level, but they remain our students and part of the school team. We had to let them move on because this is why we groom them—for better opportunities in their football careers,” Ngabirano said.
The two were unveiled at their new club last week, and on their debut, they contributed to a 2-2 draw against Rines in a top-flight fixture over the weekend.

Unconfirmed reports also indicate that Kampala Queens are in the final stages of securing midfielder Esther Ainembabazi from the USSSA Ankole Zone three-time champions and national USSSA girls’ football bronze medalists. Boni Consilii will miss the services of the trio as they begin their campaign for top-flight promotion with their debut FUFA Women Elite League match away to Buhimba Saints Women FC this Saturday in Hoima.
However, Ngabirano remains confident that Biiba Nenghamba, Queen Angel Atuheire, and Joan Kiiza Namulindwa will fill the gap as the team regroups for the 2026 USSSA girls’ football competitions.
Defending champions Kampala Queens are reinforcing their squad with fresh talent as they pursue a third consecutive league title. Ethiopian tactician Asefa Firew Hailegebreal is expected to guide the team in their title push. The Queens of Soccer, as they are commonly known, are currently third on the table with 22 points, seven behind record winners and current leaders Kawempe Muslim. Meanwhile, the 2021/22 champions She Corporates are also on 29 points from 12 games, placing them level on points in the standings.
