A woman identified as Winifred Nasaazi was taken to police after she allegedly caused chaos at her ex-husband’s residence in Ndeeba, demanding to resume a marriage she had abandoned more than 13 years ago.
According to police reports and statements from the parties involved, Nasaazi was previously married to Ronald Mukasa, with whom she had five children. The couple lived together in Ndeeba, Kampala, during which time Mukasa was struggling financially.

Sources say Nasaazi later packed her belongings and left with the children to stay with her mother in the village. Mukasa reportedly pleaded with her to return, but she refused, citing his poor financial situation.
Left alone, Mukasa continued to work hard. Years later, he acquired land, built a house, and his financial situation significantly improved. He then married another woman, Zaina Nakagolo.

Last week, news of Mukasa’s improved fortunes reached Nasaazi, who reportedly returned to the home unannounced and forcefully camped there. She claimed the house belonged to her and her five children because she had given birth to them for Mukasa.
The current wife, Zaina Nakagolo, who said she met Mukasa when he was single and struggling 13 years ago, became confused by the intrusion and reported the matter to the police, requesting that Nasaazi be removed from the premises.

Nasaazi is said to have told authorities that she had come back to continue with her marriage. She reportedly feels humiliated in her village, where rumours are circulating that she failed to remarry and had only “bonked and dumped” her ex-husband.

Police intervened and took Nasaazi for questioning to restore calm at the home. Investigations into the matter are ongoing as both parties present conflicting claims over the property and marital status.

The incident has sparked debate on social media about marital responsibilities, property rights after long separation, and the challenges faced by families when financial fortunes change dramatically.
