Uganda needs either a win or a draw of 2–2 or higher to advance to the next round of qualification.
The aggregate winner over the two legs will face either Ghana or South Africa in the next round, which will be the final stage of qualification. At that stage, the four teams that will represent Africa at the tournament in Poland will be determined.
